A continuation

This is a hay bale, made from alfalfa.  The alfalfa is cut and formed into rows in the field, where it is left to dry out for a few days.  Then the rows are gathered up and compressed into hay bales.  Hay also comes from such crops as timothy, fescue and other various grasses.  The majority of the alfalfa raised in Washington state is exported to other countries, such as Japan and South Korea.
