Reindeer Games

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (reindeer)
Had a very shiny nose (like a light bulb)
And if you ever saw it (saw it)
You would even say it glows (like a flash light)
All of the other reindeer (reindeer)
Used to laugh and call him names (like Pinochio)
They never let poor Rudolph (Rudolph)
Join in any reindeer games (like Monoply Sudoku)

Yes, I changed the lyrics, but only a little – Monopoly just didn’t fit with an image of Sudoku.  I love playing Sudoku – it’s a fun little mental challenge.  I’m sure the reindeer would love it, as well.

I’m also having fun playing with my new Lensbaby – also a challenge.  This shot was taken with the wide angle lens attachment.

Yesterday morning I caught Buster running around with the little pouch that contains the little Lensbaby gadget that has a magnetic end for changing the apertures and an attached container that holds them.  I finally got the little pouch back from him, but the little gadget was missing.  I was worried about two things – one that he would have chewed off the magnet end and swallowed it, and two that all the aperture disks were gone.  I searched the house a couple of times and finally found it.  A little chewed up, but mostly okay.  One of the apertures has a tooth mark in it where he bit through the lid, but other than that everything is fine.  Yay!  I was having visions of having to call Lensbaby and ordering a new set – after only one day.  Now that would have been embarrassing.

Percy the puny poinsettia…

Is hanging his bloom in dismay
If they had just kept him wetta
He’d be a houseplant today
Folks liked the other plants betta
Now he’s alone on the shelf
Even a plant with no uncle or aunt
Shouldn’t spend Christmas Day by himself

Now who would have thought that there’d be a song about a poinsettia?  Click here for the full lyrics.

I got myself a present – a Lensbaby lens for my camera.  I sold a few pieces of my glass and decided to treat myself.  It came in yesterday morning and I did not allow myself to open the box up until I did a few chores around the house.  I finally opened it up around noon and started playing around.  Boy, do I have a lot to learn!!  I took around 200 images (good thing for digital) and have about a dozen that are passable.  Maybe.  The thing with the Lensbaby is that it is all manual, so I am REALLY going to have to learn how the camera works – mainly ISO settings and aperture size so you don’t get blown out images.  Thankfully some post-processing adjustments in Photoshop can be made, but it can’t correct everything.  I’m going to have a lot of fun over the next two weeks!!
