Peggy, Monika and I went on a scenic drive of Spokane, which included a stop at Arbor Crest Winery. Unfortunately we got there just after they closed and they were setting up for a private party. They didn’t really want us there, but did let us look around for a little bit. There was this cool little cannon, a really cool old roadster, a fantastic view overlooking the valley and the Spokane River below.
Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital has done a fantastic job making the hospital bright and cheery for the kids who come for help. Each area of the hospital has a different theme, from kites, to bugs, to space, to everything in between.
These dainty little purple flowers were blowing in the gentle breeze high up on the hill at Arbor Crest Winery, making it very hard to get a decent shot. I got two that looked okay through the view finder, but were slightly out of focus when I got home. Much better than the rest of the flower shots, though. I’ve decided I don’t know anything about flowers after all, because I haven’t a clue what these are. That seems to be happening more and more often lately.
So Monday was the Glass Quilt Collaboration unveiling and it was pretty amazing, and overwhelming, to see it finally installed. It was a long road getting it there, but well worth the time and effort to make it so. Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital has a cool logo, which they have engraved in this fake tree trunk. It’s really pretty cool to see it in person. I’ll be posting more photos over the next few days of various aspects of the unveiling, from time spent hanging out with friends before and after, to the unveiling itself.
