Whoops, there it is!

snowy-birch-trunk-2a

I prepared this post last night and it wasn’t even all that late when I did it.  I had it scheduled for posting at 6:00 am PST and this morning when I came to view the post found that I completely forgot to title it or even write anything about it.  That’s a first.

Now that I’ve said all that, I don’t think I have anything to say about the photo anyway!

Baby, it’s cold outside

snowy-birch-branches

I woke up yesterday to fresh snow.  Yay!  I don’t know why I’m so excited for snow this year, usually I dread it.  Maybe it is because of my camera and new lens.  Maybe it’s because of my new coat…nah, not the coat, must be the camera and lens.  This is one of my favorite perspectives – up the trunk of the tree into the branches.  I love the cold blues of this shot, too.  I’ll have a series of these, so expect more over the next few days.

My favorite tree

birch-trunk-3

I love birch trees.  I love it’s peeling bark.  I love it’s texture.  I love the little catkins that they get in the fall.  And maybe in the spring.  I’m not sure when they normally get them – I know mine has new ones on the branches right now, but I was also thinking it had new ones this spring.  I’ll have to remember to pay attention next year.  In case you can’t tell, my memory is TERRIBLE.  I’d take the herb that is supposed to help with your memory, but I can never remember what it is called! lol

Happy Sunday!  I’m off to see one of my sons today.  (smile)

Another birch trunk

When I was shooting the birch trunks the other day I got a couple of shots that I really liked.  I couldn’t decide which to post, so I’m doing both.  This is the second, the first one is here.  What I like about this one is all the texture on the trunk with the peeling bark.
